NBA free agency: Anthony Tolliver to choose between Bobcats, Bulls, Jazz

Forward Anthony Tolliver is set to make a decision on his free agency by this weekend.

USA TODAY Sports

Journeyman forward Anthony Tolliver will choose between signing with the Charlotte Bobcats, Utah Jazz and Chicago Bulls, according to a source of HoopsHype.com. His decision will reportedly be made by this weekend.

The free agent spent last season with the Atlanta Hawks, where he averaged 4.1 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. The five-year pro has spent time with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Golden State Warriors, Portland Trail Blazers and San Antonio Spurs in his five NBA seasons.

Tolliver’s most productive season came in 2009-2010, when he played in 44 games for the Warriors and started 29. That year he averaged 12.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.

At 6’8, 240 pounds, Tolliver has shown the ability to play at both forward positions but has needed bigger roles to become more efficient. In 2010-11, he played in 65 games for the T-Wolves and shot 41 percent from three-point range, but his shooting in other seasons hasn’t come close to that accuracy. The last two years, he shot less than 40 percent overall and 34 percent from three-point range, but his minutes were between 15-20 minutes per game.
