The Philadelphia 76ers are apparently planning to add a former Los Angeles Lakers guard to their backcourt, as the Sixers are currently finalizing a deal to bring in Darius Morris, according to a report from Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Philadelphia 76ers reportedly plan to play former Lakers backup Darius Morris meaningful minutes this season.

Morris started 19 games for the Lakers last season, including a pair of their playoff contests, but he didn’t show enough to get the Lakers to re-sign him for the upcoming season. Instead, the Sixers have reportedly decided to sign Morris to a partially-guaranteed contract as they move closer to rounding out their roster with potential-laden players.
Morris averaged four points in 14 minutes of action over the course of 48 games with the Lakers last year, but Wojnarowski reports that he’s expected to play “meaningful backcourt minutes” for the rebuilding Sixers this season.
The 6’4 guard is still just 22 -- younger than some of this year’s draft picks -- and has two years already in the league, meaning he should make a leap this year. If not, the Sixers have guarded themselves nicely by only signing him to a partially-guaranteed contract.
