NBA TV revives ‘NBA Inside Stuff’ with Grant Hill

Grant Hill and Kristin Ledlow host the new edition of the program. Jam session!

USA TODAY Sports

During the 1990s, sports broadcasting was in a very special place. The NBA on NBC was rolling along in its heyday as one of the best sports TV packages to ever exist, and along with it aired a show that has a place in the hearts of everyone who grew up in the ‘90s. On Tuesday, it was announced that the program was coming back, though sadly, John Tesh remains out of basketball music:

NBA Inside Stuff, which last aired in 2005 on ABC, is being revived for NBA TV, Turner announced Tuesday. The beloved program, aimed at kids and adults alike, profiled NBA players and featured cool features like “Jam Session” and “Rewind.” NBA TV will air at least 26 half-hour episodes throughout the 2013-14 NBA season, with special editions airing during the year as well.

Hosting, in the tradition of Ahmad Rashad and Summer Sanders, will be legendary NBA small forward Grant Hill. Hill recently finished an 18-year playing career with the Los Angeles Clippers (though he was best known as a member of the Pistons and Magic, and perhaps Suns). His co-host will be Kristen Ledlow, a sports talk radio co-host in Atlanta who’s worked as a sideline reporter for SEC and ACC football.

“We look forward to bringing Inside Stuff to the next generation of NBA fans,” said Christina Miller, senior vice president and general manager of NBA Digital. “The series will offer fun, original content for our fans including all access features, must-see highlights and all-new segments which we will present across all screens”

Inside Stuff will be a throwback in many ways, but it will include -- like all programs nowadays -- social media integration and other brand extensions across NBA Digital platforms. But “Jam Session” and “Rewind” will be back, so really, what do you have to complain about? Long live the ‘90s.
