Texas Longhorns product Myck Kabongo will join the San Antonio Spurs in training camp and likely be assigned to the Austin Toros D-League squad, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.
Former Texas Longhorn Myck Kabongo to join Spurs camp
The point guard who left Texas and went undrafted will likely be assigned to the Austin Toros D-League team.

Kabongo left the Texas program after his sophomore season. The point guard out of Toronto averaged 14.6 points, 5.5 assists and 5.0 rebounds per game in 2012-13 but only played in 11 games because of an NCAA suspension.
After going undrafted despite being projected as a second-round prospect, Kabongo joined the Miami Heat for Summer League play but only played in three games. He averaged four points, 2.7 assists and 2.7 rebounds in 13 minutes per game. Kabongo also went to camp with the Canadian national team this summer but was cut from the roster as the team prepared for the FIBA Americas tournament.
The path for Kabongo seemingly will be a similar one to another former Longhorn and Canadian, current Spurs point guard Cory Joseph. He was San Antonio's draft pick in 2011 but spent a good deal of his first season in the D-League with the Toros. This season, Joseph became a rotation player behind point guard Tony Parker and was the best player on the Canadian national team.
