2013 FIBA Americas schedule: 4 more games scheduled for Friday

The second round-robin tournament is underway in Caracas as teams attempt to qualify for the 2014 FIBA World Cup.

The 2013 FIBA Americas schedule will continue Friday with four more games as teams attempt to qualify for the final four tournament and a spot in next year's 2014 FIBA World Cup.

The best matchup on Friday’s schedule will likely be the nightcap as Puerto Rico takes on the Dominican Republic in a game that features two of the tournament favorites. Puerto Rico has the better record, but the Dominican squad beat them in 2011 and 2012 -- and it’s very difficult to count out a team that features Jack Michael Martinez in the post.

The three other Friday matchups feature Jamaica vs. Argentina, Uruguay vs. Mexico and Canada taking on the hosting squad from Venezuela. Argentina and Canada are both essentially locks to make the final four, but an upset to start the weekend could derail those plans.

Friday’s full schedule is included below, converted to Eastern Time for your convenience.

11:30 a.m. - Jamaica vs. Argentina

2 p.m. - Uruguay vs. Mexico

5:30 p.m. - Canada vs. Venezuela

8 p.m. - Puerto Rico vs. Dominican Republic
