Injury woes continue to hit the New York Knicks as Amar'e Stoudemire left the game in the third quarter Thursday night in a blowout against the Indiana Pacers.

Stoudemire went up on a drive late in the third quarter and rolled his ankle as Indiana’s Roy Hibbert defended on the play:

The Knicks forward returned to the court to shoot free throws on the play, but was immediately subbed out of the game by coach Mike Woodson. Stoudemire was putting in extended minutes as forward Kenyon Martin had injured his ankle earlier in the second quarter.
Stoudemire was immediately taken to the locker room, where X-rays came back negative. The Knicks play again on Friday against the Los Angeles Clippers. If both Martin and Stoudemire are unable to play, that would likely mean Cole Aldrich stepping up and getting time against the Clippers at Madison Square Garden.
Stoudemire is averaging just 9.7 points and 4.4 rebounds per game in a down year for New York.
