The NBA fined Indiana Pacers forward David West $15,000 for elbowing Blake Griffin during the team's victory over the Los Angeles Clippers, the league officially announced Sunday. The incident happened at the halftime buzzer when both Griffin and West reached up for the rebound. West was assessed a flagrant two foul and ejected from the game. West finished the night with four points and two rebounds in 15 minutes through the first half. The Pacers didn’t struggle without their starting power forward, however, building up a 16-point lead going into the second half and never looking back.
Paul George carried the scoring load without West, putting in a game-high 36 points, including this incredible reverse windmill dunk in transition. Indiana visits the Golden State Warriors on Monday in a marquee game between two of the best teams in the NBA. West is expected to play, dodging a suspension but taking a financial hit for elbowing Griffin.
