The Phoenix Suns have informed veteran guard Leandro Barbosa that they will sign him through the remainder of the 2013-14 season, reports Paul Coro of The Arizona Republic. Barbosa's second 10-day contract expired after their win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday, putting his future with the franchise in question. Teams can only sign the same player to a 10-day contract twice in a single season, but the Suns have decided to keep him on the roster through the season.

The team brought Barbosa back to add roster depth while Eric Bledsoe recovers from knee surgery. Barbosa has played in nine games since tearing his ACL last season. He did not play for 11 months prior to his return to Phoenix.

Barbosa has been productive as a role player off the bench, averaging 8.7 points in 21.4 minutes per game. The Suns are currently the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference with a 26-18 record.
