The Cleveland Cavaliers have "a few" trade options that would rid them of Andrew Bynum before his contract becomes fully guaranteed for the rest of the season. Whatever Cleveland decides to do, it appears the team likely won't send any other significant pieces out with Bynum, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Cavs will weigh their options and aim to make a decision by Monday. If they were to release him, they would have to do it by Tuesday, as it takes three days for players to clear waivers and his contract would become guaranteed for the year on Jan. 10.

Young players, draft picks and significant contributors are probably not going to be leaving Cleveland. That explains why talks between the Cavs and Lakers fell through. Los Angeles reportedly discussed a swap of Bynum and forward Pau Gasol, but Cleveland was unwilling to include a draft pick or younger player to make a deal work.
The Cavaliers reportedly began exploring trade options involving Bynum by reaching out to other teams, asking for much more than what anyone was willing to part with.
Bynum will be paid only $6 million of his $12.2 million salary this season if he is cut by Tuesday. He averaged 8.4 points and 5.3 rebounds per game with Cleveland. Bynum was put on paid leave because he has reportedly become a distraction to his teammates, who are trudging their way through a 11-21 season.

Now it appears the Cavaliers are heavily leaning toward trading him rather than waiving him and getting nothing in return. What they can get back remains to be seen.
