The Cleveland Cavaliers sent center Andrew Bynum and three future draft picks to the Bulls, acquiring Luol Deng from the only team he’s ever known.
Bynum debuting for Pacers

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY SportsThe former All-Star and two-time NBA champion played 24 games for the Cavaliers before the team waived him after his conduct was deemed detrimental to the team. He averaged 8.4 points and 5.3 rebounds in 20 minutes per game after missing the entire 2012-2013 season due to injury. Indiana’s offense has struggled recently, and Bynum could provide scoring help off the bench.

Ken Blaze-USA TODAY SportsWhat Bynum can add to Indiana’s championship hopes isn’t abundantly clear. He was shooting just 41.9 percent from the field before he was suspended and then traded by the Cavs, and his lack of mobility and athleticism was clear during his short time on the court this season.
Update: Bynum’s deal is for a reported $1 million.

David Richard-USA TODAY SportsReport: Cavs won’t trade Waiters in Pau package

Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY SportsThe Cavaliers must trade or waive Bynum by Tuesday or an additional $6.2 million of his 2013-2014 salary becomes fully guaranteed. The second-year of his contract is fully non-guaranteed, however. Cleveland is expected to waive Bynum if they are unable to deal him prior to Tuesday. If the Lakers trade for Bynum they are also expected to waive their former center.
Cleveland is resistant to add assets to a trade for Gasol, however, because he will be an unrestricted free agent this summer. Losing future assets as a team that is still building is unappealing to Cleveland, especially with the additional risk of Gasol signing elsewhere.
