Deron Wiliams continues to battle ankle problems and has had cortisone injections along with platelet rich plasma procedures in each of his ankles, the Brooklyn Nets officially announced. Williams has a sprained left ankle and inflammation in his right ankle. He's currently in a walking boot and the Nets are expected to re-evaluate his status at the end of the week. Williams is officially ruled out of their game against the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday.

Ankle injuries continue to sideline Deron Williams, who has been ruled out of the Nets’ next game and will be re-evaluated at the end of the week.

Williams underwent cortisone shots to his ankles multiple times last season and has been dealing with ankle issues since the 2012 Olympics. He’s already missed 11 of the Nets’ 34 games this season. There is not a specific timetable on how long Williams will be out with his latest setback and the Nets have three games through Saturday. Williams is on track to record his worse season since his rookie season, averaging 13.6 points and 6.9 assists in 30.2 minutes per game.

Brooklyn has been plagued with injuries all season, most notably Brook Lopez missing the remainder of the season after breaking his foot and Andrei Kirilenko playing just eight games while dealing with back spasms.
The Nets $102 million in salary this year has underwhelmed and the team is currently ninth in the Eastern Conference having four teams under .500 in the top-eight. Brooklyn is currently on a three-game winning streak, their largest of the season.
