— NBA (@NBA) November 14, 2014 NBA Christmas Day uniforms have first names on the back
Get ready for “Chris” vs. “Stephen!”

The good news
These Christmas Day jerseys are far better than last year's sleeved abominations that looked more like pajamas than actual uniforms. Remember where we're coming from here.
The bad news
The first name thing is weird. It’s one thing to look at a Bulls “Derrick” jersey and know who it’s for. It’s another to do the same with an “Anderson” Cavaliers jersey or worse. And there are conflicts. The Heat (Bosh and Andersen) and the Clippers (Paul and Douglas-Roberts) each have two players named Chris on the team. Then again, one Heat can go by “Birdman” and the two Clippers have three-character nicknames.
The verdict
Not my favorite, but I can live with them. I’d prefer the league use regular jerseys, but that’s a wish that won’t be granted.
