Earlier this week, Suns guard Eric Bledsoe went on Sirius XM radio to proclaim that Kentucky could beat the winless Philadelphia 76ers in a seven-game series. As one might expect, the Sixers do not agree.
76ers find idea that Kentucky could beat them ‘insulting’
Former Kentucky guard Eric Bledsoe said on Sirius XM radio that his Wildcats could beat the Philadelphia 76ers, who play in the NBA. The Sixers do not agree.

Veteran Jason Richardson, who is injured, laughed when he was asked about Bledsoe’s comments, according to Philly.com. Richardson said he would make sure to post Bledsoe’s quote in the Sixers’ locker room on Friday when Phoenix visits Philadelphia.
Sixers guard Tony Wroten was less concerned over the conversation of whether a college team could beat an NBA squad. He was just wondering what was going on in Bledsoe's head, per CSN Philly:
“Nah, they can’t beat us,” Wroten said. “He’s crazy.
“Yeah, it’s insulting. He might be serious, but I know Bledsoe. I’m not going to take it personally.”
The Suns have been busy riling up future opponents this week. After an 88-86 win over Detroit, forward Markieff Morris went on record saying that Pistons guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope doesn’t have any heart, which led to a fun response from Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy the day after.
Unlike Morris’ comments, Bledsoe might not have intended to take a shot at Philadelphia -- he could simply be representing his college. Still, it’s not going to be taken innocently in the Sixers’ locker room.
The more immediate question is whether the bulletin board material will help the Sixers against the Suns on Friday. Philadelphia is currently 0-11 to start the season, and while Phoenix has a bit more firepower, Jeff Hornacek’s crew is still working out some kinks that it has encountered during a 7-5 start.
