Dwight Howard will miss the Houston Rockets' game against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday due to flu-like symptoms, according to Jonathan Feigen. The issue comes as somewhat of a surprise and now the Rockets will be forced to play without Howard in a battle of undefeated teams.
Dwight Howard out due to flu-like symptons
The Rockets are set for a big matchup against Golden State, but they’ll be without Dwight Howard.

Howard is coming off one of his best games of the season, a 32-point, 16-rebound effort against San Antonio on Thursday. His absence will leave a major void for the Rockets to fill. Howard is second on the team in scoring at 19.7 points per game and lead the Rockets with 11.5 rebounds per game. He's one of three starters sitting out, as point guard Patrick Beverley and power forward Terrence Jones are also out for Houston.
With Howard sitting, rookie Tarik Black will step into the starting lineup. It will be the first start of his career. He's only played 53 minutes this season and just 13 total during the last four games. He will be challenged by Andrew Bogut and Golden State. Bogut leads the Warriors with 10.3 rebounds per game.
The Rockets won’t play again until Wednesday, giving Howard a couple days to recover from the illness.
