Milwaukee Bucks rookie Jabari Parker is expected to miss the rest of the season after tearing the ACL in his left knee in the Bucks’ win over the Phoenix Suns on Monday, according to ESPN’s Marc Stein and Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski. An announcement has not been made, but Parker has already informed teammates, according to Wojnarowski.

Parker suffered the injury in the third quarter of the Bucks’ thrilling 96-94 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Monday. The rookie’s left knee buckled without contact as he drove to the basket, and he had to be carried off the floor by his teammates.
The injury was initially called a sprained knee, but the MRI reportedly revealed much worse.
Parker has been one of the most productive rookies in the NBA this season, averaging 12.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists, while shooting 49.0 percent from the field. The 12.3 points per game is second among rookies to only Andrew Wiggins, and the 5.5 rebounds per game is third among first-year players.
Parker’s stellar play has been key to Milwaukee’s surprise 13-12 start. The Bucks are currently the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference, and with the 2014 No. 2 pick sidelined, Khris Middleton and Jared Dudley will have to step up in his place.
