Mark Jackson uses sermon to respond to Warriors owner

Jackson called out Warriors owner Joe Lacob for saying many people in the Warriors organization didn’t like him.

Golden State Warriors owner Joe Lacob recently explained the reasons for firing Mark Jackson after last season, and the former Warriors head coach responded with comments of his own while giving a sermon at True Love Worship Center International in Los Angeles, according to Diamond Leung of the Bay Area News Group.

Speaking in front of a cheering congregation, Jackson said Lacob “put me on blast” and “said I was good for nothing, an owner that knew me for three years and spent a couple of minutes around me, an owner that had the audacity to say that 200 folks don’t like me in the business.”

Lacob’s initial comments came at a venture capitalists luncheon last Wednesday. Lacob said that while Jackson did an admirable job bringing the Warriors to the playoffs two seasons in a row, he couldn’t be kept around because 200 people in the organization didn’t like him.

Lacob reached out to Jackson over the weekend to apologize for the comments, but that didn’t stop the former coach from responding in his sermon.
