NBA All-Star Game 2014 roster: The Western Conference is stacked

Coached by Oklahoma City Thunder coach Scott Brooks, the West will try to manage their best as they take on several first-time selections to their squad including Steph Curry, Damian Lillard and Anthony Davis.

Having an athletic combination of guards in Curry, Lillard, Chris Paul and James Harden to package with Blake Griffin, Dwight Howard and LaMarcus Aldridge means we will probably see a lot of fastbreak opportunities. Defense is always suspect (read: absent) in the All-Star game and that will most likely be the case this season. The winner has scored a minimum of 141 points since 2009 and this West squad will probably look to take advantage on the secondary break -- a quick screen after the initial fastbreak yields no opportunity.

The Western Conference clearly has the better teams, head-to-toe, in the NBA, but will it be able to hang on against LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and Paul George? Here’s the full rosters for you to make your decision.

Guard: Steph Curry

Guard: James Harden

Forward: Kevin Durant

Forward: Blake Griffin

Forward: Kevin Love

For Curry, it’s his first selection to the game and a notable one since he has been named a starter over veterans Chris Paul and Tony Parker. Kevin Durant is an absolute no-brainer as a starter for the West as he’s been torching nets all season for the Thunder. Of course, the debate between Kevin Love and LaMarcus Aldridge takes a step in the Minnesota forward’s direction as he gets his first start with Aldridge on the reserves. The second guard spot was vacated by Kobe Bryant due to injury, and Harden has been selected to take his spot in the starting lineup.

Guard: Chris Paul

Guard: Tony Parker

Guard: Kobe Bryant

Frontcourt: Dwight Howard

Frontcourt: Dirk Nowitzki

Frontcourt: LaMarcus Aldridge

Wild Card: Damian Lillard

Wild Card: James Harden (named starter in replace of Bryant)

Injury Replacement: Anthony Davis

Davis is the most notable addition, who will get to play in front of a hometown crowd. The other narrative, of course, is the inclusion of Damian Lillard as a Wild Card. Not only is there the potential to see Lillard and Davis -- who were both taken in the 2012 NBA Draft -- play on the same team, but the game is one of the five All-Star events Lillard will participate in.
