The Houston Rockets are not expected to trade center Omer Asik despite the big man requesting a trade multiple times since the team acquired Dwight Howard. The trade deadline is days away but there is "nothing brewing" on the Asik trade front, according to USA Today's Sam Amick.
NBA trade rumors: Houston Rockets not expected to trade Omer Asik, according to report
Houston’s “other” center isn’t expected to be traded before the deadline passes.

Asik’s numbers have nosedived after having a career season in his first year with the Rockets. He’s averaging just 3.9 points and 6.5 rebounds in 17.1 minutes per game. He’s played a minimal 20 games through the season, missing a huge stretch of games after Dec 2. He’s played in three games in 2014, making his return to the Rockets’ lineup in February.
Houston intended to play Howard and Asik together, but the team was unable to find success with the two big men on the court at the same time. Asik was sent to the bench as a reserve once the Rockets decided against playing a “twin tower” frontcourt, leading him to request a trade out of Houston.
