The Houston Rockets and Philadelphia 76ers have engaged in trade discussions centered around big man Omer Asik once again, reports Ken Berger of CBS Sports. The Rockets are seeking a first-round pick in exchange for Asik and also have interest in big man Spencer Hawes. The 76ers have the cap space available to absorb Asik's contract but are interested in acquiring future draft picks by offering their salary flexibility to teams seeking financial savings.
NBA trade rumor: Rockets and 76ers involved in Omer Asik trade discussions, according to report
The Rockets and 76ers have re-opened trade discussions regarding Omer Asik.

Philadelphia currently owns the rights to the New Orleans Pelicans' top-five protected 2014 first-round pick and their own pick this year. The Rockets and 76ers were involved in trade negotiations prior to the Rockets' self-imposed trade deadline on Dec. 19 but were unable to strike a deal previously.
It’s unclear if Houston will trade Asik, however. Reports suggest the team is unlikely to trade Asik prior to the Feb. 20 deadline with no trade discussions “brewing,” but Philadelphia could be one of the few teams that could immediately open talks with the Rockets because of previous negotiations.
