Metta World Peace has announced via Twitter that he will be bought out by the New York Knicks. The forward said that his agent is currently working on a buyout and as of the writing of this column, it "could happen any hr [sic] now."

The New York forward made the announcement via Twitter Saturday morning.

World Peace is averaging a career-low 13.4 minutes and 4.8 points per game. He has appeared in just 29 of the Knicks’ games this season and is shooting 39.7 percent from the floor.

Smith taking the off guard spot and Amar'e Stoudemire backing up Anthony, there hasn't been much space for the artist formerly known as Ron Artest on the floor.
World Peace is making $1.59 million this season and is under contract for $1.66 million in 2014-2015.
