Celtics coach Brad Stevens told the Boston media on Friday that forward Gerald Wallace will be out indefinitely with a torn meniscus. An MRI revealed the injury that the veteran had been playing with for some time, according to the team.
Gerald Wallace injury: Celtics forward out indefinitely with torn meniscus
The Boston Celtics will be without forward Gerald Wallace because of a knee injury that will likely end his season.

Wallace is likely done for the year considering the recovery time for such an injury and the NBA season having just more than six weeks to go. He had also been suffering from bone spurs in his ankles and will need surgery to relieve those issues as well, according to the Boston Herald’s Mark Murphy.
Wallace has averaged 5.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game for the Celtics, who acquired the 31-year-old in the offseason trade that sent Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett to the Brooklyn Nets.
There’s a good chance Boston moves forward with Wallace attacking his health woes sooner rather than later. The small forward has played a key role for a struggling team during the rebuilding season, averaging 24 minutes per game. He is in the middle of a hefty contract that’s paying him $10.1 million this season and each of the next two years.
