Greg Smith injury: Rockets C undergoing knee surgery, expected to miss remainder of season
The Rockets gained Omer Asik but have lost Greg Smith for the remainder of the season.

Smith appeared in 11 games, averaging just 9.1 minutes per. Omer Asik recently returned the Rockets' lineup after missing time since December, however, replenishing the team's frontcourt depth. Second-year player Donatas Motiejunas has already played more total minutes than he did through his entire rookie season, seeing an increased role while Houston's centers have suffered from various injuries.
Dwight Howard is the only Rockets player to appear in all 58 games on the season.
The Rockets are currently in the middle of the Western Conference as the No. 5 seed. They're 39-18 this season but have surged since Jan. 28. Houston has gone 10-2 during that stretch and is only four games behind the Oklahoma City Thunder for the top seed in the conference.
