Head coach Mike D'Antoni revealed that Steve Nash will officially start for the Los Angeles Lakers when they play the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday, reports Dave McMenamin of ESPN. Nash has been out since Nov. 10 dealing with nerve issues in his back.

More on the Lakers

The Lakers are expected to limit Nash's minutes, playing him six to eight minutes to start the game. He is expected to rest after that, play the same limited minutes to open the second half, then rest again as he attempts to make a return from back and nerve issues that have been lingering since he broke his leg early last season. Nash will not play in the second half of the team's back-to-back when the Lakers visit the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday.

Steve Blake will also make his return Tuesday. Blake will start at shooting guard, shifting Jodie Meeks to play small forward. Jordan Farmar will also dress, though the team may delay his return to help the minute load on Wednesday without Nash.

The Lakers’ trio of point guards returning at the same time will likely limit Kendall Marshall’s minutes. He’s averaging 10.5 points and 9.6 assists per game while shooting 45.5 percent from beyond the arc since being signed by the Lakers out of the D-League.
