Lakers vs. Cavaliers was the most bizarre game of the season

Robert Sacre was allowed to play in a game in which he fouled out. Also, Ryan Kelly and Steve Blake dominated and Anthony Bennett actually played pretty well.

Things got weird in Cleveland Wednesday night.

The Los Angeles Lakers started the game with just eight players as Pau Gasol (groin), Jordan Hill (cervical), Jodie Meeks (ankle) and Steve Nash (coach's decision) were all out.

There were so few players, Chris Kaman turned the bench into his personal sofa.

Then Nick Young got hurt (knee) and Kaman fouled out, leaving them with six, until Jordan Farmar was spotted with a wrap on his leg with four minutes remaining. That left the Lakers with just five players.

Robert Sacre fouled out but was allowed to stay in the game because the Lakers, well, had no one else they could play.

From there league rules and regulations took over.

a. Each team shall consist of five players. No team may be reduced to less than five players. If a player in the game receives his sixth personal foul and all substitutes have already been disqualified, said player shall remain in the game and shall be charged with a personal and team foul. A technical foul also shall be assessed against his team. All subsequent personal fouls, including offensive fouls, shall be treated similarly. All players who have six or more personal fouls and remain in the game shall be treated similarly.

The situation was so confusing that even Pau Gasol was appalled.

The Los Angeles Lakers beat the Cavaliers 119-108, but the final score is kind of irrelevant with how bizarre things got.

As if the whole fouling out but not fouling out because you’re down to the bare minimum of eligible players thing wasn’t weird enough, Steve Blake recorded 11 points, 15 assists and 10 rebounds.

This is his Steve Blake’s wife calling him her one armed, half deaf husband.

As if all of this wasn't weird enough, Ryan Kelly dominated with 26 points on 8-of-16 shooting and Anthony Bennett actually looked like an NBA player, finishing with 14 points and eight rebounds.

The Cavaliers are pretty bad. At least Mike D’Antoni is happy.
