Stephen Curry looked flat against the Bulls on Wednesday night, scoring just five points in 28 minutes as the Warriors dropped a game on the road in Chicago. Maybe he was just resting himself for Friday. Curry logged his third triple-double of the season against the New York Knicks, 366 days after his 54-point game at Madison Square Garden.

Curry has been dominant against New York in his young career, making no less than 3 three-pointers in any one game. He's also not scored less than 25 points against the Knicks since November of 2010. On Friday, Curry became the only visiting player to MSG, along with LeBron James, to have scored both a 50+ point game and notched a triple-double in the famed arena.
It was all too easy for Curry on Friday as the Warriors guard completed his triple-double before the third quarter ended. He exploded for 12 points in the first period, then began to work the Knicks’ defense for assists and rebounds. With New York focusing on him offensively, he nabbed six rebounds and four assists in the third quarter alone, good enough to propel Golden State to a victory, 126-103. Curry finished with 27 points on 9-of-19 shooting, adding 11 rebounds and 11 assists.

In losses this season, teams have game-planned to turn Curry into a volume shooter, limiting his assist opportunities. That certainly wasn’t the case on Friday night, as the porous Knicks defense allowed Curry to both score and dish the rock around MSG.
The Warriors currently stand at sixth in the Western Conference at 36-23. Despite their offensive prowess and defensive capabilities, Golden State suffered with Andre Iguodala out earlier in the year and are still finding ways to be consistent in their post play with both David Lee and Andrew Bogut missing time as of late. Curry's strong play has been a solid foundation for coach Mark Jackson to build off of this season.
