The Nuggets had throwback jerseys on and ‘90s legends in the building Monday night, which meant Rocky, Denver’s mountain lion mascot, got to hang out with some old friends. Or should I say “friends”, in this case. Dikembe Mutombo turned heel while Rocky was in mid-air for a dunk:
He was always more of a defender than an assist man, Rocky. Should’ve known to expect that. RIP, Rocky: Thought he could summit Mount Mutombo, was sorely mistaken.

That is the most cartoonish “PUT YER DUKES UP”/“WHYYYY I OUGHTA” approach and the saddest, most futile flurry of air punches I’ve ever seen. Like “HERE IS AN EXAMPLE OF SOMETHING I MIGHT DO TO YOUR FACE IF YOU WERE TO BRING YOUR FACE CLOSER. DO NOT DO THAT.” He even appears to shout “WHAT’S UP!” while the kids behind him cheer him on.
