On a drive to Lakers practice, injured guard Kobe Bryant joined radio host Dan Patrick to talk about everything from his knee injury to Phil Jackson's new position with the New York Knicks. Maybe the most interesting bit came toward the end of the interview, when Patrick asks Bryant how he'd describe President Barack Obama's pick-up game.

Dan Patrick asked Kobe Bryant about President Obama’s basketball skills, and the injured Los Angeles Lakers guard dished out some impressive compliments.
Patrick threw out former Lakers guard Derek Fisher as a potential comparison, but Bryant took it further.
“I haven’t seen him really elevate on his shot, so I don’t know if he does the leg-kick like the player I’m about to say,” Bryant said. “He would be like a left-handed version of Michael Adams.
“Another name I’d say: I think Nate Archibald.”
That’s quite the compliment to the president.
Nate “Tiny” Archibald led the league with averages of 34.0 points scored and 11.3 assists per game in 1972-73. The 6’1, 160 pound guard -- a lefty like the president -- finished with career averages of 18.8 points and 7.1 assists per game.
It all makes sense. While growing up, Obama attempted to replicate the spin moves that the speedy Archibald used, he told the Washington Post.
So, could President Obama make the Lakers’ current roster?
“Yes, he could actually,” Bryant said, then clarifying as to not insult the team that is clinging to a 22-44 record. “It’s more of a sign of respect of the skill that the president possesses.”
