Anthony Davis notched a double-double with 30 points and 11 rebounds to lead the New Orleans Pelicans to a 105-95 victory over the Miami Heat. Davis added another statement game in his phenomenal second year. Chris Bosh .... :
NBA scores 2014: Anthony Davis dominates Heat, Grizzlies top Pacers
Anthony Davis dominated the Heat, the Pacers’ offense was on empty, and James Harden went off against the Cavaliers.
and Chris Andersen ....:
... met with the 'Browed Baller and did not fare well. LeBron James twisted his ankle in the third quarter but played through the remainder of the game. He finished with 25 points, nine assists and eight rebounds.
Memphis Grizzlies 82, Indiana Pacers 71
Oh look, Indiana's offense is waning. They shot just 36 percent as a team and were barely able to put together 30 points through the first half. Paul George went 2-for-10, David West went 5-for-15 and the Pacers went down.
Mike Conley finished with a game-high 21 points and Mike Miller put in 13 points, draining four of his six three-point attempts. Here's a pretty Marc Gasol dish as a parting gift. Thanks for stopping by:
Houston Rockets 118, Cleveland Cavaliers 111
What happens after the following frame?
A) James Harden launches a three
B) James Harden drives by Jarrett Jack
C) James Harden drains a stepback jumper
Stepback jumper in your eye, Jack. Harden was on fire, scoring 37 points and dishing out 11 assists. Houston built a 101-79 lead by the end of the third and Harden sat out the entire fourth quarter. Five Rockets broke double-digits in scoring and the Howard-less Rockets destroyed the Irving-less Cavaliers. March madness, folks.
The Al Jefferson and Kemba Walker show is trying to lock in it's spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs. Plays like this certainly don't hurt their odds:
Al Jefferson had a big night, scoring 28 points along with six assists and seven rebounds. Charlotte shot 52 percent from the field and took advantage of the Blazer’s below-average defense.
Chicago Bulls 91, Philadelphia 76ers 81
Look out below. The 76ers dropped their 24th game in a row, a franchise record. If they lose two more straight they'll tie up the 2010-2011 Cleveland Cavaliers' NBA record. They face the San Antonio Spurs and the Houston Rockets. On the road.
Joakim Noah put together an all-around stat line, dropping 20 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Byron Mullens had three points.
Boom.
L.A. Clippers 112, Detroit Pistons 103
Blake Griffin and Chris Paul dismantled the Pistons, combining for 53 points, 22 assists and 11 rebounds as the Clippers rolled through the Pistons.
What happens next, version 2.0
A) Jonas Jerebko pops back up and gets in Blake Griffin's face.
B) Blake Griffin helps Jonas up and it’s all gravy.
C) Blake Griffin places a foot on Jonas’ chest and flexes on top of him.
He helps him up. Why? Because he has a Kia Optima is my best guess. See, it doesn’t always have to be a fight when it comes to B-Griff.
San Antonio Spurs 99, Golden State Warriors 90
The Spurs improve to 3-0 over the Golden State Warriors this season and extend their lead over the Oklahoma City Thunder for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference in convincing fashion. Tony Parker notched 20 points and five assists, Tiago Splitter picked up a double-double, and the Spurs had no issue handling the Warriors even without Manu Ginobili and Tim Duncan.
Oh, and the Spurs became the first team in the Western Conference to clinch a playoff berth. 17-straight playoff appearances for San Antonio.
Orlando Magic 89, Utah Jazz 88
Trey Burke! From the corner! FOR THE WIN!
Burke drained a game-winning three with 1.6 seconds left on the clock in a battle between two teams battling for ping-pong lottery odds. Both teams shot under 40 percent on the night, but someone had to lose. Saturday night, it was Orlando.
