Golden State Warriors head coach Mark Jackson has forced a reassignment of assistant coach Brian Scalabrine, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports. Scalabrine's new role with the team is unclear, but the Warriors are expected to keep him within the organization.

It's also unclear what led to Scalabrine's reassignment. Jackson previously had issues with his assistant coaches, reportedly going "weeks" without speaking to current Sacramento Kings head coach Michael Malone. He also revealed some interesting insight on his perspective on coaching when asked about Jason Kidd reassigning Lawrence Frank earlier in the season, via Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News:

”There’s no difference of opinions with my staff and I. They give suggestions. Some I go with. Some I don’t. But at the end of the day it’s my decision and we are united in whichever way we decide to go. If you have a problem with that, you should not be my assistant coach. That’s the way I feel about it.

”I’m not saying that happened here but wherever it happens, it shouldn’t take place. So just disappointed in the way it was handled and how much credit is given to a head coach and how much fault is given.

Jackson's future with the team has come into question because of an "increasingly dysfunctional atmosphere," according to Wojnarowski. He is under contract with the Warriors for one more season and the team is not expected to negotiate an extension with him. Jackson reportedly reached out to the Los Angeles Clippers and Brooklyn Nets while the two franchises searched for a head coach, but he "tried and failed" to land either job.

The Warriors are currently the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference with a 44-27 record.
