Patrick Beverley won't require surgery on his knee to repair a torn meniscus and will be able to return to the Houston Rockets this season, Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reported Monday.

Houston Rockets guard Patrick Beverley won’t require surgery after suffering a torn meniscus.

Beverley, the Rockets' starting point guard, was initially ruled out indefinitely after injuring himself last Thursday against the Philadelphia 76ers, and he was scheduled to visit with knee specialist Dr. James Andrews on Monday. Before the visit, the Houston Chronicle's Jonathan Feigen reported that Beverley's initial discussions with Andrews and with team doctors led him to believe he wouldn't need surgery.

Beverley told the Houston Chronicle that Andrews had reviewed his test results and that he expected to have a return timetable of only 10 to 14 days.
“I don’t feel a lot of pain, which is a great thing,” Beverley said on Saturday. “No swelling, which is a great thing. It wasn’t in the same area a lot of players tore their meniscus. I feel pretty confident about it.
“I know how my body reacts to certain things. I know how I feel. I feel great. I feel like if I put on the brace I’ll be all right to play today.”
The defensive-specialist was missed on Saturday, when Houston lost to the Los Angeles Clippers, 118-107. Point guard Jeremy Lin started in Beverley's place but he and the Rockets had no answer for Clippers point guard Chris Paul, who scored 30 points on 10-for-16 shooting from the field.
