The Toronto Raptors have long suffered at the hands of the NBA's elite, and not just in on-court performance. Their jerseys, instead of the original purple, are a bland white and red affair, with a black alternate. Next season, the Raptors celebrate their 20th anniversary and are planning on bringing back their purple "Dino" jersey from their inaugural season.
Toronto Raptors to bring purple dinosaur jerseys back for select games next season
Millenials around the globe rejoice, as the Raptors plan to bring back their dominant-color jerseys for a few throwback home games in 2014-2015.

— Toronto Raptors (@Raptors) March 7, 2014 “We are excited to bring back a piece of team history as part of our 20th Anniversary celebration,” said Masai Ujiri, President and General Manager of the Raptors. “Our fans have shown affection for the original purple uniform and I think our players will enjoy the chance to wear them next season.“The Raptors’ team store doesn’t carry any jersey outside of the white, red and black options, but many surely rejoiced as Toronto made the announcement. The purple color scheme is not only stark, but should liven up the Raptors’ current following, as their kits these days leave something to be desired.
Don’t get too excited, because apparently the jerseys will only be worn for “select home games” next season. That is, until demand for retro Popeye Jones jerseys skyrocket.
