The Miami Heat were down one with less than 10 seconds on the clock, but victory was all but guaranteed. After all, the best basketball player in the world, LeBron James was streaking towards the hoop with a seemingly clear path to a dunk.
Mason Plumlee had a game-winning block on LeBron James
Yeah, you didn’t misread that sentence.

But his path wasn’t totally clear. There was one man in his way.
MASON PLUMLEE.
From another angle:
A foul? Perhaps. It sure looks like he got a bit of LeBron’s hand and body, but then again, hand is part of the ball. Some like refs to swallow their whistles late in games. Some like refs to be consistent all game. Some think superstars like James get preferential treatment from refs, while rookies get, well, rookie treatment. Regardless: three dudes decided not to blow their whistle here, so it goes in the books as a block and a Heat loss.
The Heat’s loss cuts their lead for first place in the East over the Pacers to just half a game, while the Nets are pretty much stuck in fifth place.
