The Milwaukee Bucks had the easy choice in the 2014 NBA Draft, and they took Duke’s Jabari Parker with the No. 2 pick.

Parker was a star from day one at Duke, averaging 19.1 points and 8.7 rebounds as a freshman before declaring for the draft. His 27-point, nine-rebound performance in the second game of the season in a loss to Kansas on a highly publicized ESPN game verified all the hype behind his game. He could shoot, he could create his own shots with ease and he was an athletic freak.
Parker stands 6’8 with a 7’0 wingspan, so he has enough size to play on the wing or as a hybrid forward in the NBA. Parker relied on having a high volume of shots at Duke -- he ranked 41st among all Division I players by taking 32.3 percent of Duke’s shots while he was on the floor -- but the Blue Devils succeeded more often in the wake of his shot-taking rather than suffered.
Milwaukee needs one of everything, and Parker is a franchise scorer around which the Bucks can build for years to come. If there's one thing the Bucks have, it's size, and Parker playing the three alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo, John Henson and/or Larry Sanders at any given time gives Milwaukee a size advantage over a lot of teams in the immediate aftermath of a 15-win season.
