UConn forward DeAndre Daniels built up his NBA Draft stock with a stellar run through the NCAA Tournament, and that paid off when he was selected 37th overall by the Toronto Raptors.

After a baffling international selection in the first round, the Raptors went with an athletic national champion with their second-round pick.
After putting together two productive seasons under coach Kevin Ollie, Daniels averaged 16 points and 7.2 rebounds in six postseason games, helping the Huskies win the 2014 NCAA Championship.
He decided to forgo his senior year, but was inconsistent most of the 2013-14 season and likely wouldn’t have commanded so much draft attention if he hadn’t strung together nine consecutive double-digit scoring games before scoring eight in the title game against Kentucky. At 6’9 and with a 7’2 wingspan, he has potential written all over him.
The most promising part of his game is the jumper. Given Daniels’ length and reasonably good athleticism, his 41.7 percent three-point shooting could be quite a weapon considering how hard it is to contest.
Defensively, Daniels has a lot of room to grow. He showed fine focus down the stretch of the postseason but physically must add to his 196-pound frame.
