As you’d expect, people can bet on LeBron James’ ultimate free-agent decision online (and, of course, in person). Lines shift depending on how many people are betting each side, etc. Typical stuff. This is not typical.
LeBron James’ free agency odds are moving all over the place
Massive shift in LeBron odds, now a -200 favorite to sign w/ any team other than Cleveland at 5Dimes. Very strange. pic.twitter.com/L4Xl9ryTGS
— David Payne Purdum (@DavidPurdum) July 11, 2014 Insanity. LeBron's odds of returning to the #Cavs is waning by the second. He's now +325 to return to Cleveland and -475 to sign elsewhere.
— SportsInsights.com (@SportsInsights) July 11, 2014 We have no idea why this is happening, especially given all the momentum in Cleveland about a possible return. But with James in Las Vegas as we speak at his Nike skills camp, it sure is interesting. It’s yet another layer to an incredibly complex story that doesn’t appear to be especially close to a resolution.
