Bucks plan to pursue Eric Bledsoe, according to report

The 24-year-old was one of the biggest stars on a 48-win Phoenix team last season.

The Milwaukee Bucks are preparing to offer a contract to Phoenix Suns point guard Eric Bledsoe, according to ESPN's Marc Stein. Bledsoe is a restricted free agent, so the Suns will have the right to match any contract.

Bledsoe broke out in his first year with the Suns this past season. The 24-year-old averaged 17.7 points, 5.5 assists and 4.7 rebounds per game. He is considered one of the most athletic point guards in the NBA.

The biggest concern with Bledsoe is health -- he has had a history of knee issues. He missed over two months following surgery to repair torn cartilage in his knee last season.

It wouldn't be out of the question for Bledsoe to sign a max offer sheet this offseason. The Bucks have just over $47 million committed in salary for next season and may want to aggressively start to remodel the team after drafting Jabari Parker at No. 2 overall and signing Jason Kidd as head coach.

The Bucks are also considering trading for Rockets point guard Jeremy Lin or signing Raptors point guard Greivis Vasquez, according to Stein.
