USA's side of the bracket didn't present much challenge as the national team marched to the championship game. Team USA has defeated their opponents by an average of 31.3 points through the elimination round, easily handling Mexico, Slovenia and Lithuania to earn a shot at the gold. USA has taken a balanced approach on offense, with six players averaging over 10 points per game. James Harden has been the leading scorer, averaging 13.1 points per game.
Serbia’s run has been surprising following a negligible 2-3 record through the group phase. They’ve put together impressive wins in elimination play, sending Greece, Brazil and France packing. Milos Teodosic has led the way for Serbia, shooting 48.9 percent from beyond the arc and leading the way with 14 points per game.
Serbia has won two gold medals in FIBA World Cup competitions, while USA has won four (including the last one in 2010). It’s all on the line in the final game of the FIBA World Cup in Spain.
