FIBA World Cup 2014 results: Team USA destroys New Zealand, Australia upsets Lithuania
Day 4 of the FIBA World Cup featured another easy U.S. win and a critical Australia victory that shook up Group D.

Ukraine 64, Turkey 58: Olexandr Mishula had 19 points off the bench as Ukraine beat Turkey in a hotly contested game to move to 2-1 in group play. Both teams struggled offensively for most of the contest, with Ukraine taking a 41-39 lead into the final frame. Ukraine finally broke out offensively in the fourth quarter, and two three-pointers from Mishula helped put the game away in the final minutes. Omer Asik had 16 points and 20 rebounds in the loss for Turkey, who dropped to 1-2.
Team USA 98, New Zealand 71: Team USA jumped out to a 22-point halftime lead and coasted to an easy win over New Zealand. Anthony Davis led the way with 21 points and nine rebounds, while Kenneth Faried had a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Davis and Faried also both had nasty alley-oops (h/t to @gifdsports and @Steve_OS):
Dominican Republic 64, Finland 58: The Fins methodically cut a 16-point Dominican Republic lead to three in the final two minutes, but a hobbled Francisco Garcia did just enough to help his team hold on. The victory may have come at a cost, though: Dominican big man Eloy Vargas had to leave the game in the fourth quarter with a knee injury.
Group D
Mexico 79, Angola 55: Mexico nabbed its first win of the World Cup with an easy victory over Angola. Mexico trailed by five points after the first quarter, but they took a one-point lead into halftime and held Angola to just 20 points in the second half. Hector Hernandez had 24 points in the victory, going 7-of-12 overall and 6-of-10 from three-point land. Gustavo Ayon had a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Valdélicio Joaquim and Yanick Moreira each had 13 points as Angola fell to 1-2.
Australia 82, Lithuania 75: Australia ran out to a 19-point halftime lead and withstood a second-half charge to pull off the upset of Lithuania. Australia saw its lead cut to three points on two occasions in the fourth quarter, but the team made enough plays to hold off the run and sealed the game at the free-throw line. Joe Ingles led the Aussies with 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting. Aron Baynes had 14 points, while Matthew Dellavedova added 13. Renaldas Seibutis had 21 points for Lithuania, who had 22 turnovers and dropped to 2-1 in the tournament. Australia is now also 2-1 and ahead of Lithuania in the standings.
Slovenia 89, Korea 72: Slovenia was oddly sloppy in the first half, allowing arguably the least talented team in the field to lead after the first quarter and trail by just one at halftime. Goran Dragic and company finally got it together midway through the third quarter, going on a 21-5 run to turn a tie game into a 16-point lead. Dragic finished with 22 as Slovenia took control of Group D.
