UPDATE: The Hornets have released a brief statement on Taylor’s arrest (via ProBasketballTalk):
“The organization is in the process of gathering more information and doing our due diligence. This is a matter that we take very seriously.”
Taylor is attempting to come back after suffering a ruptured Achilles in December and missing all but 26 games last season. While he was on the court in his sophomore season, Taylor averaged eight points and 2.3 rebounds per game on 37.6 percent shooting.
Taylor was drafted No. 31 overall by Charlotte in 2012 after four seasons at Vanderbilt. The 6’7, 225-pound forward is expected to compete for minutes within a strong Hornets front court this season.
Charlotte has Michael Kidd-Gilchrist entrenched as the starting small forward and Marvin Williams and Cody Zeller sharing minutes at power forward. The Hornets also added P.J. Hairston as a first round pick this season, who can play either shooting guard or small forward.
