Dallas Mavericks point guard Rajon Rondo left the game on Saturday after getting hit in the face by teammate Richard Jefferson’s knee during the first quarter. Rondo has since been ruled out for the rest of the game with a head injury, according to Eddie Sefko of the Dallas News.
Rajon Rondo out after getting kneed in the face
The Mavericks point guard took an inadvertent knee and left the game with a bloody nose.

The injury occurred only a few minutes into the game. Rondo fell to the court and began to turn just as Jefferson shifted to run up the court. Jefferson’s knee caught Rondo right in the face and the Mavs point guard immediately grabbed at his face.
Rondo stayed down during the timeout while trainers tended to his bleeding nose. He eventually went back to the locker room for further evaluation before being ruled out. Details of the injury have yet to be reported. Rondo was playing in his 21st game with the Mavericks after coming to Dallas via a trade with Boston. He’s averaging 9.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 6.9 assists per game with the Mavericks. Dallas is also playing without Chandler Parsons, who is sick.
