Jahlil Okafor has been suspended by the Philadelphia 76ers for two games on Wednesday, per Adrian Wojnarowksi of Yahoo Sports.

“Jahlil is a very important part of our organization and our future. While we are disappointed with his recent actions, we have faith in him as a valued member of the Sixers,” the 76ers statement read. “We will provide the necessary resources to support him on his journey and will do our part to help him succeed both on and off the court.”
Okafor was involved in an altercation outside a Boston club on Nov. 25, following the 76ers loss against the Celtics. Okafor is seen first engaging in a verbal discussion with someone before shoving and swinging at a man in a video released by TMZ. He allegedly punched him as well, but the footage doesn't show that.
The incident allegedly began after a heckler taunted Okafor, according to ESPN's Jeff Goodman, who confirmed the initial report.
“The 76ers suck and you guys are all losers. You’ll never win a game,” the unknown individual allegedly told Okafor.
Video of a second altercation outside the same Boston club surfaced on Wednesday as well.
No charges were pressed against Okafor, but the 76ers released a statement saying they were “working to gather additional information” before making further comments. Apparently they found enough evidence of misconduct to issue a suspension.
The original TMZ report included a mention of an unnamed teammate being present at the time of the incident, but there is no mention of anyone else in the statement announcing the suspension.
In addition to the incidents in Boston, Okafor was also reportedly clocked driving 108 mph in Philadelphia earlier in November. On Sunday, Okafor apologized for his recent transgressions.
“I hold myself to a higher standard than anyone else ever could and I’m not proud of some of my decisions over the last few months. I own my choices both personally and now publicly. At this point I am cooperating and respecting the process I have to go through,” Okafor tweeted. “Going forward I don’t want to be a distraction for my team and am grateful for the support and guidance those close to me are giving. I am 100% focused on my responsibility to the League, my teammates and fans.”
Okafor is averaging 17 points, eight rebounds and two blocks per game. The 76ers are 1-18 for the season.
