The Clippers might have more than three times as many wins as Lakers, but that doesn't mean their season has been any less disappointing. This, after all, was supposed to be the year that the trio of Chris Paul, DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin figured out how to vault the team into the finals.

The final game on Christmas features a cross-town rivalry that’s waned in recent years.

Instead the Clippers have struggled all season to get stops and have seen numerous big leads disappear late in games. Most notable: Chris Paul's numbers are down across the board.
Of course, there's no better remedy for a struggling team than a matchup against the Lakers, the NBA's version of chicken soup. Byron Scott's crew is last in the league in points allowed per possession, and things haven't been much prettier on the other end of the floor, where Kobe Bryant has made a habit of hijacking the offense so that he could launch poor shots.
That said, Bryant has altered his approach a bit over the last week. He's taking fewer three-pointers and shooting a better percentage from the field. He dropped 31 against the Nuggets earlier in the week and will no doubt look to put on a show in front of a national audience.
