Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin will miss at least the next two weeks with a partially torn tendon in his quadriceps, the team announced Saturday.

Griffin suffered the quad tear in the first quarter against the Los Angeles Lakers Friday night, but still played 36 minutes, putting up 13 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists in the Clippers' win. An MRI exam revealed the partial tear of the quad Saturday morning.

The Clippers play in Utah against the Jazz Saturday night, the second game of a five-game road trip, all of which will be missed by Griffin, who played in each of the first 30 games this season. He had started 46 consecutive regular season games, dating back to the 2014-2015 season.

The Clippers were without Griffin for 15 games last season, when he missed time with a staph infection in his elbow.

Griffin’s 23.2 points per game leads the Clippers, and he is second on the team with 8.7 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game.

The team says Griffin will be reevaluated in two weeks, with Dan Woike of the Orange County Register reporting that the Clippers are hopeful Griffin can fully recover with only rest and physical therapy.
