Paul George will indeed return this season at some point within the next week, according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst. He could even come back to game action as soon as Saturday against the Nets.

The Pacers’ star is on track to play for the first time since breaking his leg this past summer.

This week marks the seventh month and third week since he horrifically broke his leg during a scrimmage between the U.S. Men's National team players the past summer. He was unofficially considered out for the season but he made strides in his recovery and started practicing in March. George first claimed he was close to returning, but started having second thoughts when the Pacers went on a seven-game winning streak, saying he didn't want to "destroy what these guys have going." It appears he's changed his mind again and will play this season.
George broke out last year, averaging 21.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.9 steal per game on his way to an All-NBA third team berth and All-Defensive first team spot. He won’t likely regain his level easily after such a long absence but it’s in his and the franchise’s best interest for him to return as soon as possible so he can get comfortable playing again. If the Pacers make the playoffs, he will at least provide wing depth and shot creation, which Indiana sorely needs.
Regardless of how he performs, it will be a great thing to just see him out there after such a gruesome accident.
