Marcus and Markieff Morris charged with felony aggravated assault
The Suns forwards were charged for their role in an alleged incident outside a local rec club.

The victim, Erik Hood, said he was confronted by the Morris Twins and three other men, including NFL Draft prospect Gerald Bowman, outside the Nina Mason Pulliam Recreation Center in Phoenix. The two other suspects began beating him up, and the Morris twins and Bowman allegedly joined in later, Hood said. The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for a broken nose and other bruises.
The alleged assault happened because Hood sent “an inappropriate text message” to the Morris twins’ mother.
Hood claims he’s known the Morris twins since high school and was a mentor to them in college. The Morris twins say they they weren’t involved in the assault and do not know Hood.
The Phoenix Police detectives said it took weeks to gather enough evidence to charge the twins. They had suggested that a charge was coming two weeks ago when speaking to the Arizona Republic and formally submitted them to a grand jury two days later.
