Mike Conley, who missed the final two games of the Memphis Grizzlies' first-round win over the Portland Trail Blazers after taking an elbow to the face in Game 3, will sit out Game 1 of the second round. His Grizzlies will face off against the Golden State Warriors without him.
Mike Conley out for Game 1 against Warriors
The Memphis Grizzlies’ point guard is still recovering from an elbow to the face in Game 5 of the Grizzlies’ first-round win over the Portland Trail Blazers.

The point guard will be missed. Conley averaged 15.8 points and 5.4 assists per game this season. In his three playoff games, he averaged 16 points and 3.7 assists per game. Nick Calathes and Beno Udrih will see more minutes with Conley sidelined.
As of last Wednesday, he looked very beaten up when interviewed during the Grizzlies’ win in Game 5. His left eye was still swollen shut. Conley was already struggling with injury, playing though a foot issue and a wrist injury that could require surgery this offseason.
Conley participated in pregame warmups with the Grizzlies, but will not take the court during the game.
