With the Washington Wizards holding a slim lead in the fourth quarter against the Atlanta Hawks, star guard Bradley Beal fell to the ground in pain after twisting his ankle. He has been diagnosed with a sprained right ankle and returned late in the fourth quarter.

Beal was having a tremendous game for Washington. He had 28 points when he exited with about eight minutes left in the fourth quarter, making 9-of-22 shots from the field and going 8-for-10 from the foul line. Ramon Sessions immediately checked in for Beal.
The 21-year-old was a high volume, low efficiency scorer for Washington in its first round series sweep of the Toronto Raptors. He averaged 20.8 points per game on 38 percent shooting from the field and 33 percent shooting from three-point range.
He finished the year as Washington’s second leading scorer behind John Wall, averaging 15.3 points in 63 games this season.
