San Antonio Spurs sharpshooter Danny Green received calls from the Sacramento Kings and Detroit Pistons at the start of free agency Wednesday at midnight, and is expected to draw interest from plenty of other teams, according to Sam Amick of USA Today.

Our Tom Ziller made the case that Green is one of the most valuable free agents on the market. The 28-year-old averaged 11.7 points on 41.8 percent shooting from three-point range last season. Green is also considered a quality perimeter defender.

Green broke out in the 2013 NBA Finals as the Spurs fell to the Heat in seven games. He made nearly four three-pointers per game for the series, and shot them at a 55 percent clip. He went off for 27 points on 7-of-9 shooting from deep in the Spurs’ Game 3 victory. He went cold in the final two games, both San Antonio losses, combining to shoot just 2-for-11.
