The Phoenix Suns need cap space if they want to sign LaMarcus Aldridge. On Thursday afternoon, they cleared some up by trading Marcus Morris, Danny Granger and Reggie Bullock to the Detroit Pistons, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

Aldridge was reportedly deciding between the Suns and the San Antonio Spurs after taking meetings with both as free agency opened on Wednesday. The Suns added Tyson Chandler as well this offseason, who is the type of defense-first center who appeals to Aldridge. Phoenix also re-signed point guard Brandon Knight to a $70 million deal.
With this trade, Phoenix opens up $20 million in cap space, according to Wojnarowski.
Morris is the most notable player in this deal. The trade splits him up from his twin brother Markieff, who started for Phoenix at power forward last season. Marcus Morris is a 6’9 combo forward who averaged 10.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game last season on 35.8 percent shooting from three-point range.
Bullock is interesting as well. He was the No. 25 pick in the 2013 draft by the Clippers, but hasn't gotten much of a chance to prove himself yet. Still, at 6'7 he looked like a potential 3-and-D wing coming out of North Carolina. Both players can help out for a Detroit team that needs shooters.
Now all eyes turn to Aldridge. Who is it going to be: Spurs or Suns?
