The battle for DeAndre Jordan isn't just limited to emojis. As word spread on Wednesday that the free agent center was rethinking his verbal agreement to join the Mavericks, representatives from both Dallas and the Clippers raced to meet with Jordan in his hometown of Houston.

Doc Rivers and company are doing everything in their power to keep the free agent center away from Dallas.


The Clippers got the first chance to pitch Jordan, with a contingent that reportedly included coach Doc Rivers, Chris Paul, Paul Pierce, Blake Griffin and J.J. Redick. Los Angeles isn't giving up without a fight, and that includes in the meeting room. With a meeting with Mark Cuban looming, the Clippers reportedly stalled to keep the center away from the Mavericks owner:
